Platelet Rich Plasma

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a concentrated sample of your own blood composed primarily of high levels of platelets. Platelets are a critical component of the healing process. Importantly, platelets contain growth factors that are responsible for stimulating tissue generation and repair. Envigor8 Medical utilizes FDA approved special processing equipment to generate PRP that reliably delivers a concentration of platelets and growth factors that is 4-6 times greater than that found in whole blood.

Growth Factors

Growth factors are necessary to initiate tissue repair and regeneration at the injury site. Growth factors derived from platelets are responsible for soft tissue repair, bone regeneration, development of new blood vessels, and stimulation of the healing process.

PRP contains a variety of autologous (the patient’s own) growth factors (including Platelet Derived Growth Factor, Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor, Fibrolast Growth Factor, and Transforming Growth Factor), cytokines, and proteins that collectively stimulate and accelerate repair and regeneration processes of bone and soft tissue. These growth factors have been shown to initiate accelerated tissue repair, angiogenesis (capillary formation), and collagen production. These growth factors are always in the blood stream and react when you sustain an injury, insult, or are exposed to a disease. PRP works to intensify the reaction and speed up this process.

See more specific information on the growth factors here.

Is PRP Therapy Safe?

Yes. PRP has been used clinically for over a decade. Leading clinicians in specialties such as Dental, Orthopedics, and Reconstructive Surgery routinely use PRP to deliver a cocktail of natural, bioactive growth factors. PRP is derived from a small quantity of your own blood drawn at the time of treatment.

Because PRP is made from your own blood, it is insulated against the risk of disease transmission and inflammatory immune responses. PRP is made point-of-care at the time of treatment and under physician’s control. The healing and regenerative benefits of PRP therapy are both safe and all-natural, and there is little to no risk of adverse reaction, rejection, or infection.

The Envigor8 Method

Envigor8 utilizes a precision dual-spin separation technology that reliably delivers the optimal concentration of platelets to promote accelerated healing. The concentrated Platelet Rich Plasma solution contains large amounts of bioactive proteins, including growth factors which are crucial to cellular communication and accelerate both tissue and wound healing.

PRP therapy is safe, simple, and an outpatient procedure. It offers lasting benefits, and in some procedures this can be a permanent repair, eliminating the need for more aggressive treatment such as long-term medication and / or surgery.
